There are rules of the types of monies that you will be able to put into the Ira. You can transfer funds from one trustee to another trustee. You can put in rollovers from other Ira accounts. You can transfer monies that are in the incidence of a divorce that may occur. There are other similar types of transfers that can go into your Ira but you would need to check with your trustee in order to verify which ones you can do.
