Understanding CE
Sunday, August 31st, 2008In addition to understanding and implementing the Biomatrix ce mark directive's requirements, companies must also be willing and able to invest the time and resources required. The applicable directive went into effect Jan. 1, 2005, and at the time some companies did nothing [except] ask 'Is this real?'. Now they're in trouble, because it can take anywhere from three months to more than a year to perform the activities required to affix the CE Mark. Although it is an expensive process, and a vast majority of the cost [of obtaining the CE Mark] is internal, firms are finding the compliance process to be worthwhile in improving a product's safety.
